Where in the world is SJOG?

A Grand Basilica on a late winter's day in Normandy? Relaxing lagoon, charming fieldhouse, and the majesty of the twin towers of a Baroque masterpiece on the north edge of a picturesque park.

Welcome to the South Side of Chicago! This is St. John of God in Sherman Park. I spent the day catalogging the art and architectural furnishings of SJOG, and will post these soon. (Click on the photo for larger image)

The church is currently vacant, a bit damp, and an architectural masterpiece by HJ Schlacks.
